Sky-Watcher BKP 150750EQ3-2 - telescope review
2. Pictures and parameters
With the telescope we get two 1.25” standard eyepieces (a Super 25 mm and a Super 10 mm) and a Barlow 2x lens with the dimension of 1.25” (it increases two times the focal length of the telescope). Both eyepieces are three-element Kellners – it’s been a norm for the SkyWatcher telescopes and, unfortunately, a step backwards, compared to four-element Plossl eyepieces, which used to be a standard here. A very important novelty is a 2-inch Crayford focuser which works much easier and is more precise than rack-and-pinion focuser mechanisms from previous models. A greater diameter of the focuser allows to employ different eyepieces, Barlow lenses or other accessories in this standard. As a part of an accessory kit you get a 6x30 finder scope – enough to find most of celestial objects. As it is fixed on a standard dovetail foot you will be able to swap it without problems for one of bigger models, offered by Sky-Watcher or other producers.

The telescope is sold with a equatorial EQ3-2 mount (even several years ago marked as EQ4). It is, in fact, the cheapest parallactic mount which gives you an expansion ability and is characterized with a perfect price/quality ratio. Its weight and dimensions make it comfortable to carry around and transport. The mount features handy extendable legs, made of aluminum, with a tray where you can keep eyepieces or other accessories during the observations. The EQ3-2 gives you an opportunity to attach a polar finder scope, indispensable for astrophotography. We get also two flexible control knobs to move along rightascension and declination axes which make following an observed object for any chosen length of time easier (so-called micro movements). Additionally, you can buy a motor drive which will allow you to keep the observed object always within the eyepiece’s field of view.
