Overall
Owner since: 3 years
Price: US$180
User profile: Amateur
Cons: Tunnel-vision FOV; hard edged eye-cups; stiff focus; throw away the neckstrap and replace
Pros: Outstanding build and view for price; rugged construction;
Summary: I got these for my wife who wanted to see if she'd enjoy birding; I use Leica Ultravid 10x42 and Zeiss Victory 8x42 - so I've a basis for comparison. FOV stinks for a 7x42 pair of binos, but the view is pretty good for US$180; for me, I'd throw them in the car for chance spotting; but if you can't afford more, get them, they offer the best value in non-Chinese made binoculars; unfortunately, Canon discontinued these in favor of IS bins. Too bad they filled the niche for inexpensive, Japanese quality made bins that outperform bins costing may times more.
