User profile: Professional
Cons: Slightly heavy
Pros: Everything else
Summary: Optically I think this binocular has been right up there with even today\'s alpha offerings The resolution and clarity is absolutely exceptional I recently sold my Zeiss HT as I prefer the Swarovski in almost all areas The SLC is built to LAST Excellent flare suppression and beautiful whiteness in the images produced If the minimum focus distance was a little bit smaller, I think the SLC would be worth its weight in gold...it\'s optically THAT good

Price: 1300USD
User profile: Amateur
Cons: Heavy,Closest focusing distance is too far
Pros: Perfect optical performance,Especially strong
Summary: If your main purpose is not Bird Watching, worth having, or otherwise choose other better.

Price: 1200

Cons: Eye relief not ideally suited for me when I wore glasses, they are somewhat adjustable . Field of view shrunk (for me) when wearing glasses. There are newer and faster focusing binoculars.
Pros: Built tank-like. Color fidelity amazing compared to almost anything. (I haven't used the new 2011-2012 crop of premium binoculars). so the new "crop" may? be better. Well over 1000 field days, birding, hunting, hiking, exploring in the last five years and they work flawlessly and look mint.
Summary: If my vision hadn't changed recently, requiring glasses, I would have kept these and used them almost daily forever. I am critical of optical equipment, especially at this price point. I own ~ 30 pair of binoculars.
