Pros: Every meaningful aspect of viewing through binoculars this size.
Summary: I paid a good price for these gems, but they were in as new condition....Case too! I have quite a few nice binoculars already, but this Zeiss Jena 8x50 is quite literally the personification of perfection. Super bright and clear and the build quality,as well as the aesthetics are in the heirloom class. Just a phenomenal instrument!

Cons: Wish it was rubber coated....but I already have the Doctor 7x50B, Doctor 8x56B, Doctor 16x50B, which are based on this design....No Cons....
Pros: Image quality is superb from corner to corner.....color is brilliant and almost an extension of my eyes....I watch nature on an Island in Florida....the greens, flowers, leaves, and Ocean just seem like you can touch them....flawless feel....you know you are holding a work of art...not just another pair of binoculars.....this 1989 model is the summit of German perfection....and I can use my glasses with these!
Summary: If you own this masterpiece of Porro design....guard it with your life....they are that precious....

Cons: Came without a case, as second hand, but I still grabbed them up.
Pros: Probably for me my favourite bino. Never found better value pound for image. Never found later roof prism designs come anywhere near so pure an image either including the ones with red dots on them! Being a disabled male, having worked a wheelchair, they are not heavy, but lesser persons may not agree.
Summary: As good as they get.

Cons: None
Pros: Heavy and sturdy, like my favourite instruments, Excellent optical quality
Summary: This is one of the best binoculars in my \"team\". It\'s cheaper than most of the instruments that are in production and at the top of the range today. It\'s still excellent in \"competitions\". so, I can say that it deserves to be bought.

Cons: can be heavy to hold
Pros: A stand alone glass with no attempt to cut corners, matched only by the Zeiss West 8x50b which I also have ,but the Octarem looks and feels more impressive.
Summary: If you have one keep it !!

Cons: Rubber armour makes it a tad thick, but offers great protection.
Pros: Optically brilliant. Very bright and super sharp.
Summary: A great porro worthy of praise. I love the "easy" view this binocular offers and the sharp clear image. Great for dusk and dawn viewing.
