Cons: Heavy and oversized. Battery life. Cheap objective caps. Stiff ocular adjustment for sharing. From what I’ve heard, nightmare servicing support from Canon(none).
Pros: Great feel in hands, waterproof, ability to screw on filters to protect front element.
Summary: Used these for over a decade at football games as well as wildlife observation in ALL weather conditions and they have been flawless. Image stabilization is perfect with ideally placed and touch of single do all button. Batteries last for reasonable amount of time, but with little warning they are gone. Not difficult to swap with a easy functioning door, but be careful not to lose or damage it. It will not function without it. Overall a truly masterful creation by Canon both optically and functionally.

Cons: Heavy. No objective caps. Strap is a bit weak, but these are not designed to carry around your neck all day.
Pros: Good optical quality. The stabilisation works wonderfully; a good tool for birdwatching. Uses standard AA batteries, so they are cheap & easy to replace. No noise from the gyroscope.
Summary: It's good to have a pair of 18x binoculars that have no shake whatsoever: try switching from stabilised to non-stabilised mode to see the difference. Heavy, but that is to be expected given the technology involved.
