Cons: The focus knob is stiff, difficult to turn, and the knob itself has some direct touch in some positiont with the central part below. Mine has one damn speck on the left side prism. Blurry edges (ca. 15% outer part of the picture).
Pros: Excellent color rendition, minimal cromatic aberration, clean view, high light transmission. Resolution is very good. Projected image is close to eyes, no tunnel vision effect. Built quality is excellent, regarding phisical dimensions and compactness, only the focusing knob would be more easy to turn around on mine. Nice neck strap, rear and front caps with very good quality. As it is a small and handy instrumens, easy to hold with minimal movements, so view is stable. Eye relief 18 mm, real advantage for eye-glass wearers like me.
Summary: I think that despite the Made in China tag, that suggest some possible variation between different exemplaires, it is a good binocular from the lower-mid price range. I can feel and use the Prominar advantages. It is really compact, but heavy, handsome and well balanced model. A very good all-rounder that enables to observe birds with all kind of weather, well beyond the optimal light conditions.

Cons: The focus knob feels light but is probably that way to keep weight down. Not really a problem however. They are made in China.
Pros: Sharp and bright image for this price range. Smaller (more compact) than other binos in the 10x42 class. I'll be traveling with them as well as taking to events because they offer a good combination of performance vs size. Focus is smooth to operate. There is a lot to like about Kowa BD 10-42 XD.
Summary: So far I have been pleased with these binos and would recommend them to anyone that wants a smaller "full size" 10x42 glass.
