Overall
Owner since: 2 years
Price: £225
User profile: Amateur
Cons: Somewhat narrow field of view. Lens caps not tetherable
Pros: Excellent image sharpness, brightness and contrast Very good colour rendition Smooth focussing Fairly lightweight Nice build and decent leather pouch case Decent strap and caps that fit, although not tethered Made in Japan with 30 year warranty
Summary: I bought these as an upgrade to my Opticron Adventurers at half the retail price, new stock. As far as value goes, they are worth a 5 for what I paid: at full retail of £225 they are still a good long term purchase, having very good build and a 30 year warranty. They are of very nice all round quality and give excellent views of the night sky, as well as very good daytime views of birds etc. Star clusters such as The Pleiades, M42 etc are beautiful in this binocular! I highly recommend these bins if you can find a pair (now discontinued). Also available til recently as a 10x50.
