Cons: Only weakness ar small FOV and a a bit soft on the edge
Pros: This binocular have a very strong construction. With this instrument I do not care about frost, heat or dust... Eye relief is very good in 10X binocular class (18,4mm!!!). Have clear and luminous image.
Summary: Compared to Monarch 7, the view of Monarch 5 looks in my eyes a bit more contrasting in a direct comparison. But in the edge of FOV Monarch 7 take the lead a bit.

Pros: Very compact and lightweight for a 10x42 binos. Very good price ratio! The narow field of veiw it is compensated with very big eye relief

Pros: solid and handy housing, waterproof 1m/10min very very good transmision slight coma, low distortion, good whiteness rendition, medium blackening, chromatic aberration not very noticeable at the edge of the field. sharp image in the center, but olso good at the edge of the field. ED lens, Dielectric Reflecting coating

Because I think this Monarch 5 will surpass more expensive binoculars; For exemple Monarch 7 it seems to be same binocular but great deapth of field and Carl Zeiss Terra I think it will be surpass.
