    User profile: Professional

Cons: They are heavy, with narrow apparent field of view (about 50 degrees in these) and with individual eyepiece focussing which does not suit users in a hurry.

Pros: The DCM model has some functions which I believe are unique and potentially of great importance for my work. I am a professional ornithologist and do some work on windfarm environmental impact assessment which involves trying to map bird flights in 3 dimensions. Even traditional marine binoculars don\'t provide all of what I would require for this task, lacking a tilt function. The reticule is helpfully divided into very small 1 milliradian intervals. Having time and a stopwatch superimposed in visual field is excellent for my work. Keeping a record of temperature changes and barometric pressure is another interesting feature. The layout of features is very logical and well thought out. They are optically excellent, contrast even better than on my Docter Optic 8x56 and Vortex Razor HD 10x42s. Sharpness comparable. Very neutral colour rendition. Little colour fringing.

Summary: A unique and very well thought out pair of binoculars with many useful and unusual features and very good optical quality. It is also nice to have the option of switching the display off and on.
