Cons: It’s not so easy to unlock the eyecups. You have to read the instruction thoroughly and try several times to release the detents. This design is a needless bother. It’s not operating friendly. Front lens covers are a little tight which make me spend longer time to cover them back.
Pros: I have another two binoculars which are from famous European company. They made me slightly dizzy. But this Alpen Rainier don’t make me feel dizzy. This is very unique experience not for me but also for my family members who used it. It is comfortable to see through this binocular. This result suggests that it is from a good combination of fare optical performances. It’s a cost-effective product especially when you compare it with other famous company on the same optical and endurance level.
Summary: Thanks to the Allbino’s review, I decided to buy the Rainier HDED 8 X 42 which is highly praised. However, there is no any agent who can supply this product here in Taiwan. So, I bought this one with the help of my Japanese friend in December 2014. He bought it in Japan and carried it to Taiwan for me. Owing to a weak of Japanese Yuan, the price came up 15% than before.
