Cons: Maybe some eye relief problems but, I caution that these can be endemic to each individual user and under different lighting conditions.
Pros: Everything else! Superb "HD" glass,...BTW, unlike previous reviewer, I experience NO chromatic aberration whatsoever. Built like a "tank" excellent metal diopter ring that locks securely and incredible optics that provide incredible focal lengths from infinity down to 1 meter or less. It sometimes feels like a Carl Zeiss macro lens on an expensive 35MM SLR!
Summary: IMHO, I test drove them all, not just in the store. I took them home and went out and about often and field tested, tourista tested, etc., etc.! By far the Vortex Viper 8X32's beat all comparable models by other manufacturers, for the dollar (yes, Americano dollars)! All the eurobrands like Meopta, Leica, and yes even ultra competitive Nikons. BUY THESE! For the money you will not notice the difference in "perceived" quality of the much higher priced Euros! The cheapie Chinese Nikons don't compare in build quality no matter which model you buy! These binos are computer designed and made in Japan with obviously superb engineering parameters and quality control. Kind of reminds me of the "halycion" days of late 1960's and 1970's Nikon, Canon, Minolta 35mm SLR cameras and lenses,....all engineered and built in Japan, BTW, these bins have magnesium tubes not polycarbonate crap that can and do crack! Hope this helps. Buona fortuna fellow seekers of truth and knowledge!

Cons: Chromatic aberrations, bluring at the edge.
Pros: Very pleased! Bright image with high resolution, incredibly close focus distance (1m!), high quality multi-click stop eyecups, rubberised focus wheel and diopter (feel and look good!), lockable diopter... Also good quality contour neoprene strap (I find it more comfortable than Opticron's highest quality bungee strap! ), nice case (with a clever little compartment inside, and a removable case strap), and a useful rubber rainguard. About the warranty - lifetime, unconditional, transferable, no card or form to fill in...what else do you want more?
Summary: I've been comparing among a few 8x32s in that price range and finally I went for the viper 8x32. Many people would agree that the viper is one of the best in that price range. The 8x32 model has a 16mm eye relief which I find it comfortable (I wear glasses) , the 7.6 degree FOV, I would say, modest, not particularly outstanding in 8x32s. However one thing which has let me down is, it still show some chromatic aberrations. This optical defect is common among binos but if the vipers are all advertised that equipped with XD glass, then I would expect less chromatic aberrations. This year the viper has a new HD version, supposed to be better, I am looking forward to try them out!
